Southern Fever, Part I

~Current Daydream: Cowgirls!~

For a girl who normally looks like Morticia Addams daughter, and prefers sushi & wine to steak & potatoes - it might seem odd that I am posting something about: Cowgirls.

But, they are so cute! I love the dichotomy of being tough yet feminine.

{Must See}

In lieu of finally coming to an iron-clad decision about moving to Texas; I can't help but feel completely overwhelmed with excitement.

Just the prospect of going to a whole, new place, with new people & new things & new surroundings makes me giddy.

I'm looking at this as a huge adventure. But, I am also realistic in that, life will still be life. Work, bills, home, baby, stress. It will still be a part of my daily routine, but at least I get to chose where I will end up.

To get me into the mood even more (heehee), I decided to watch a film that I own, and have only seen once; but really felt the need to watch again.

"Giant"is a 1956 drama film directed by George Stevens from a screenplay adapted by Fred Guiol and Ivan Moffat from the novel by Edna Ferber. The movie stars Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson and James Dean and features Carroll Baker, Jane Withers, Chill Wills, Mercedes McCambridge, Dennis Hopper, Sal Mineo, Rod Taylor and Earl Holliman. Giant was the last of James Dean's three films as a leading actor, and earned him his second and last Academy Award nomination – he was killed in a car accident before the film was released. Nick Adams was called in to do some voice-over dubbing for Dean's role.

I love anything that Elizabeth Taylor does. And, who can resist an EPIC?
